Uploading FAQ (Being worked on)

To webmasters

On every icon, background and banner page, you may have noticed that there is a link to the maker's website. This is a great way for advertising your website - especially if you are selling web graphics. All you have to do is go through the upload form, and upload some of your sample web graphics. You will be allowed to enter your website URL during the process. However, you must know that since this is a open source database, we only accept copyrights such as the Creative Commons, GPL, LGPL and the public domain. If you would like to upload a number of items but would not like to do it manually, check below. If you are not a webmaster, you can also upload your own web graphics too.

Uploading

To upload your web graphics, first you need to create an account. You only need to supply a username, password and email. The email is only for verification, and will not be visible to the public unless you tell us to make it. If you do not get a verification email within a day (although it should come in 5 minutes) , feel free to contact me and I'll verify it for you.

Then simply click the "Upload yours!!" button. It will step you through the process.

Uploading in bulk

If you would like to upload in bulk (say, over 80 icons, 8 banners or 8 backgrounds), and do not wish to do it manually, please contact me at poppitypop@cubedwater.com. Often times I can upload and tag them all at once.

Restrictions

These are some restrictions for uploading web graphics. Note that I do look at every single uploaded web graphics.

  • Nothing animated. For icons I may make some exceptions
  • No banners that look like ads. Examples: "You have a virus!", or "Free hosting!"
  • Nothing cheap looking. This mostly applies to banners.
  • Only Creative Commons, LGPL, GPL and public domain licences.

Allowed files

We allow up to five files to be attached to a single graphic submission. The files may be different dimensions or versions of the same graphic. You must supply at least one .png, .gif or .jpg file so that we can generate a thumbnail. It is also recommended you also supply a vector or scalable format of the image, such as a .pdf, .psd or .svg, so that others can easily edit your submission to their need. For a full list of allowed files take a look below. If you would like to have other files allowed please leave a comment.
